At the landlords meeting to be held on Thursday 4 February, 2010, a proposal is going to be put forward for discussion that the Merseyside and Wirral Property Landlords Action Group becomes either a branch of the National Landlords Association, or keeps its independence and only just affiliates to that association.
If in fact branch status is the general wish of those who come along on the night, then we would be known as the Merseyside branch of the National Landlords Association.
Comments would be greatly appreciated.

Shadow Housing Minister Statement On Local Housing Allowance Payments
The Shadow Housing Minister (Grant Shapps) Office has issued a very important statement about the Conservative Party's position on local housing allowance payments.
After much lobbying by a large number of both landlord representation groups, and housing associations, the Conservative Party is determined, if it wins next years general election, to change current legislation were DSS tenant rent cheques will once again be sent to landlords only.
The other concern the Shadow Housing Minister has, is the number of received reports that many
landlords being forced to sell their rental investment portfolio because there have been insufficient funds to pay their mortgage provider.
This unfortunate situation has only come about since the present Government has introduced direct LHA rent payments.

Useful Documents For Landlords
We have added a new section to our sidebar entitled 'Useful Documents for Landlords'.
The aim of this blog is, and has always been, to provide as much FREE, useful information to landlords as possible. As an Action Group we realise we are only as good as our members, and supporters, in our fight to uphold the rights of landlords.
We hope users of the site find these free documents of some benefit in their 'landlording' function. All we ask in return is for landlords who feel they have any documents that would be useful to others, and that they would care to share (that is, they don't mind them being made public on this site), then please would you send them to us, ensuring first that they are not subject to any copyright restrictions, of course!

Residential Lettings To Be Regulated?
What are your thoughts? Does this industry need to be regulated, or do we suffer already from legislation overload?
An article that appeared in the Liverpool Daily Post Business Pages, on Wednesday November 25th, 2009 argues this very point .
